We live in a culture where the media rules supreme: we are constantly fed by the media and what it makes us feel leads to what we think and ultimately how we act. Coupled to the ‘always on’ nature of the internet we have the perfect storm for us to become prisoners in a ‘Matrix’-type environment. This talks examines the risks and looks at what how the bible can help us.

Modern culture has led to massive changes in what we have traditionally believed marriage to mean. We have taken to looking at marriage as something we have constructed so are therefore free to change at will. This talk looks at why this is wrong, why marriage is a ‘God-thing’ and therefore shouldn’t be adapted to suit social ‘progress’.

In this second talk in our series we look at what young people believe in the Generation Z demographic and identify where today’s ‘faith’ falls short leaving people empty and separated from God. We look at how the trendy mix of New Age/Hinduism/Buddhism (with a sprinkle of Christianity) just doesn’t help.

Where does the Queen find her inspiration and guidance? To whom does she turn in times of trouble? We look at her Lord and Saviour - the King of Kings.

We celebrate the fulfilment of the prophecy in Joel when, just as Jesus said would happen, the Holy Spirit is poured out. Why is this vital and why is it so important that we cling to the promises of Pentecost? We need to understand what the Holy Spirit does, why He is sent and how to be filled if we are to be active as disciples.

In our final talk on the second part of our vision to 'make friends', we look at what we are called to be a witness to and how we are to be ambassadors for Christ. But how do we go about this and what do we say?

As Paul travels to Philippi he uses any opportunity to explain all about Jesus. We learn some lessons from the master evangelist on how to share our faith and how the Holy Spirit is needed as a partner.
